Walk on the Wild Side: Foraging and Herbal Magic for Autumn

September 21 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

$95.00

Course Description: As autumn shows us its fiery red and gold colors, join master herbalist and teacher Gigi Stafne for this expanded “Walk on the Wild Side,” which combines a morning outdoors with an afternoon hand-crafting seasonal herbal medicines.

Meander the forests and fields of the Amador Hill Farm, exploring the wild-growing medicinal and edible plants of autumn and learning about their healing traditions and cultural and ecological importance. Along the medicine trail, Gigi will weave plant wisdom together with ways to center ourselves and reconnect with our true wild natures, and explore the connections between herbal medicine, collective healing, and grassroots environmental conservation.

The class will then return indoors to learn fundamental herbalism principles and make several herbal medicines to take home to nourish family and community. This is a special opportunity to connect with the quieting and balancing energies of autumn and explore the medicines of the season. There is a $15 materials fee paid to the instructor.

We encourage participants to also register for Gigi’s Spring and Summer “Walk on the Wild Side” offerings to experience three seasons of herbal medicine and magic with WEI this year.

All are welcome – WEI classes are open to everyone.

What to Bring: Plant journal or notebook; Comfortable walking shoes – trails include uneven terrain; Layers for being outdoors; Your lunch, snacks and water bottle.
