Introduction to Aquaponics

March 9 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

$70

March 9 @ 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

Aquaponics is the art and science of cultivating fish and plants together in a constructed, re-circulating closed loop ecosystem. Learn about the future of aquaculture and the basics of aquaponics, including how to build an aquaponic system, how to manage the chemistry and life in the system, and more.

Instructor bio: Chad Hebert started the Urban Farm Project more than a decade ago with the belief that there was a need to build sustainable food systems that could be available to all people while protecting the planet we live on.

The Urban Farm Project has now successfully raised more than 30,000 pounds of yellow perch and almost 50,000 pounds of vegetables, and Chad is currently working with the East Phillips Neighborhood Institute to coordinate and implement a larger-scale aquaponics operation.
