Chisago/ Isanti Food Show

The event is Saturday April 29th at the Chisago Community Center (38790 6th Ave, North Branch, MN 55056). The event will run from 9am-12pm..
OBJECTIVE OF THE SHOW:
1. To provide the member an experience in planning, preparing and serving foods as part of a meal or snack.
2. To develop an understanding of nutritional contents of the food we eat.
3. To give the member an opportunity for self-expression both verbally and visually.
4. To provide members an opportunity to show what they have learned.
5.To HAVE FUN with other 4-H’ers

WHAT CATEGORIES CAN I ENTER:

There is no fee to participate
Have entries ready by 9:30am
– Be sure ensure you have all of the necessary items (recipe, completed questions).
– Prepare one serving for each category for display on the table. If the food is to be served hot (example: lasagna) it need not be at judging time.
– Be prepared to answer questions about yourself, your 4-H experience and information about your entry (nutritional value, cost, ingredients, preparation needed, directions).

This food show is the only state qualifying competition in Chisago/Isanti for the Food Review project. All other project categories (yeast bread/quick bread, cookies/bars, etc) in this food show will serve as practice for the competition at the County Fair.
To sign up for the Food Show
1. All 4-H members taking part in the 4-H Food Show must pre-register online to attend our in person judging on 4/29/23. Register via 4-H Online by Friday 4/21.
2. Submit a copy of your recipe(s) 4/21/23 or earlier to the Extension Office. Recipes submitted after this deadline will not be included in the Food Show Cookbook. Please email them to Sue Humble at humb0025@umn.edu
