The Story of Jerry's Foods

Jerry’s Foods began in 1947 at Grandview Market in Edina, Minnesota, where Jerry Paulsen served as the beloved neighborhood butcher. Known for his full-service approach and personal touch, Jerry built strong relationships with customers by knowing their names and cutting their meat to order.

In 1950, when Grandview Market went up for sale, Jerry seized the opportunity to create a store that reflected his personalized service, quality food, and community connection. He opened Jerry’s Lucky Dollar, which grew into a full-service grocery store renowned for its meat and seafood.

Over the years, Jerry’s Lucky Dollar evolved into Jerry’s Foods, expanding to locations in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Sanibel Island, Florida. Jerry himself continued working at the Edina store into his eighties, until his passing in 2013.

Today, Jerry’s Foods remains deeply rooted in its neighborhoods, honoring Jerry’s legacy through:

  • Personalized service and friendly staff
  • Exceptional meat and seafood departments
  • Local, organic, and fresh food offerings
  • A family-oriented work environment
  •

For over 70 years, Jerry’s Foods has been more than a grocery store—it’s been a trusted neighbor to purposeful, family-focused shoppers
